Welcome to Bourbon Sunshine, a charming 1900s Craftsman home ideally situated near historic downtown Frankfort and the array of distilleries along the Bourbon Trail. Centrally located, this home is just 2 miles from the renowned Buffalo Trace distillery, 6 blocks from the State Capitol building, and a short drive from the famous Rebecca Ruth's candy store.

Our home is thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, offering a true home away from home experience with the warmth of mid-century Craftsman charm. Parking and entry to this property is from the back. Access it by side streets Ewing and a right onto Webber. This is an alley road of a quite well-lit area.

Great place within walking distance of the downtown area. Beds are very comfortable. Kitchen and appliances are all great. Take advantage of the fans left by the host in the summer. It is an older, remolded home and the upstairs rooms run a little hot. We would definitely stay here again if in the area!

The stay was great! There's a large bedroom on the first floor with a private bathroom and the remaining three bedrooms upstairs. There were several different games available to use that our group really appreciated! We were also able to walk to several different restaurants, coffee shops, and even a car show during our time. The house is on somewhat of a busy road, but there is plenty of private parking in the driveway where we easily fit three SUVs. Several members of our group frequently sat out on the front porch during our stay as well. The neighborhood was quiet and welcoming. Melinda was also great in her communication and provided us with plenty of information about what was going on in the area during our stay. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay! It was an easy walk to downtown and close to Rebecca Ruth and Buffalo Trace, both items on our list for this trip. I also enjoyed having the rockers on the porch to enjoy while I read a book!

The house was exactly as described. It was very clean and nicely furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Although we ate out during our two-night stay, the kitchen is well appointed in the event guests need to prepare meals. The area was quiet and within walking distance to the downtown area. We made use of the rocking chairs on the front porch and the fire pit in the back yard. Great location for those visiting area distilleries. Although we had no issues and therefore no need to contact Melinda, she was proactive in her communications pre-check in and in preparing for check out. This will be our first choice when booking for future trips to Frankfort.

The Bourbon Sunshine home was an awesome place to rent in Frankfort. It was within walking distance to shops & and restaurants, in the downtown area of Frankfort, as well as very convenient to multiple distilleries, which we took well advantage of. We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon and checked out on Saturday morning. The kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were extremely comfortable. It actually felt likevwe were at home. Melinda’s place was fantastic. Six middle aged guys got together for the Bourbon Trail, and we could not have picked a better place. Frankfort is a delightful town with plenty of walkable restaurants and bars. Plenty of history, too. And we were in the middle of the Louisville, Bardstown, and Lexington triangle. Loved the big house with tons of room. Strongly recommend for folks who need lots of beds and space.

A perfect experience. I'll take this Airbnb over a hotel room any day. If you love history this is the place to stay. Walking in this house is like walking back in time. The house has been updated and everything that could be restored to its original time, was. Beautiful antiques. Beautiful floors. The doorbell was wonderful. when you ring it, you will want to check the front door to see if the milk man is making his delivery to 511 W 2nd. This house is very roomy, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has been updated, and the front porch is so relaxing. I cannot say enough positive things about this property. There were four people staying and we had plenty of room. Upon my return to Frankfort, I will be looking to stay here.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, we found it funny that the bedroom on the main floor was slanted, felt like walking into a fun house room. The furniture and beds were comfortable and clean, Melinda's instructions were very clear before and upon entering the house. We did find it rather humorous that next door was a morgue. When it came to the comfort of the house and overall hospitality, everything was great, front porch was nice to enjoy especially after a long day. We appreciated having the fully stocked kitchen and towels ready for us and enjoyed reading the guest book and bourbon books.

This is a great place to stay when checking out the bourbon trail!! The location also worked well for going to mammoth caves and Churchill Downs. We spent so much time on the porch. It holds multiple rocking chairs plus a swing. We walked to the coffee shop just down the road pretty much every day. We had room to spread out and play games on the big dining room table. We would stay here again when we go to Kentucky.

4 horsey ladies looking for affordable, safe, accessible and appropriate weekend accommodations to attend the Defender Land Rover formerly known as Rolex Kentucky 3-day Event (at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington). We were so pleased with our choice!!! A bit longer drive to the venue, compensated by the lovely home, and amazing small town (State Capitol) look and feel with many walkable evening options. Considering the thousands of other event attendees, we were most happy to get away from the crowds at the end of the day and enjoy another part of this beautiful state! What a find with this beautiful updated multi bed (5) multi bath (2) home with all the creature comforts to keep everyone happy. OH! and the international equestrian event was so well managed and blessed with perfect weather. We can't wait to come back next year!!!

Melinda was wonderful. She was very proactive with all aspects in making sure everything was set for arrival. My husband and his friends stayed at her lovely home before venturing out to the Buffalo Trace Brewery. He said that it was a lovely home with all amenities listed and everything was very clean. Our group of 7 all loved this place, and would have stayed way longer if we could. We only had one night in town, but seriously would probably come back just to stay longer at this lovely home and location. What a nice state capitol area, and what a great house for large groups. I love older homes, so that's what got my attention but the house was even better with Melinda's thoughtful and welcoming presentation of amenities.

Amazing home, beautiful decor and very comfy beds. We had a group of 4 couples and the 2 bathrooms were sufficient for 8 adults since each room had a tall mirror for getting ready. I did bring an extension cord from reading reviews and that helped as well with access to outlets to curl or dry our hair in the bedrooms allowing others to wash or relive themselves anytime. Having a box fan in each closet was icing on the cake at night. We like noise and the air flow. The house is very sound and all of us asked every morning if we could hear anyone getting up. Nope. I could only tell if anyone was up by seeing lights under my door when I purposely looked. Very nicely located near the square for food, drink and shopping. We hit up distilleries both days and the convenience was top notch. Ample parking for 3 vehicles since we had plans change and couples need to meet from different directions. Everything in the house was top notch, clean and beautiful. Felt secure every night as well.

Group of 4 couples in for the weekend for the Bourbon Trail. Great location to distilleries and walkable to downtown Frankfort for dinner/evenings. Home was perfect - 4 bedrooms each with large bed, great set up, quaint older-style home but well-updated. Parking in back could fit 4 vehicles. This is a beautiful home! The only hiccup was the parking is a little tricky but the host explained how to get there pretty well. We were there for a weekend with friends and the bourbon trail. Buffalo trace was all lit up for Christmas! The house was spotless, lots of towels and soft beds.

We had a group of 8 friends in town for 4 days to explore local Bourbon and other places. This property was perfect for our stay. It had the right amount of space and a large kitchen to cook our meals. The fire pit outside was a nice area to end the day. We would love to return next year for our annual trip.

This was the perfect location for our group of 4 couples visiting the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. It is an old house as was described. It was very comfortable for us. Note that the first floor bathroom does not have an electrical outlet. Also, our group felt that mirrors in the bedrooms would be nice since we all dried our hair in the bedrooms. The hot water heater did not meet our needs of quick, morning showers for our group of 8. We would not let these things stand in the way of either recommending this house or staying here again.
